Workday Popup Video
Explainer videos build trust with your audience and help them understand your value proposition. I designed and edited this video mimicking VH1’s classic pop-up videos to highlight the updated user interface and new features of CareerBuilder’s human resource information system (HRIS), Workday. The video helped users easily navigate the updated system which eliminated confusion and the need for multiple follow-up emails on the changes.
3D Auto LAA Ultrasound Workflow
This short video is part of a larger, accredited training that focuses on describing how to use Philips Ultrasound’s new 3D Auto Left Atrial Appendage tool and the clinical benefits of using the tool. Learners are given a practice exercise after the video to simulate what they have learned and what it’s like using the tool.
Virtual Party Theme
Pampered Chef consultants voiced feedback that it was too difficult to find the assets they were looking for when they wanted to theme their virtual parties. I designed and edited this video to instruct consultants on how to use themes in their virtual parties and how to find them on Pampered Chef’s online portal. This video helped eradicate the problem and encouraged consultants to use the home office themes much more.
Workday Learning Demo
As part of my involvement on the implementation of Workday’s new Learning Management System (LMS), Workday Learning, I designed and edited this video to showcase the features and benefits of the system.
Google Express
While getting my MBA at DePaul, Kellstadt, I was tasked with creating a digital campaign for an emerging company or product. Although not required, to truly bring the campaign to life I created a thirty-five second explainer video on Google Express’ main features and benefits.
Life Change and Baby Benefits
Behavioral change communication is key to solving any company’s most pressing problems. CareerBuilder’s benefits team noticed employees were not communicating life changes, such as getting married or having a baby, in the window of time needed to make changes to their benefit plans. This led to issues of employees losing out on important benefits coverage that could last an entire year.
While behavioral change communication is key to solving a company’s most pressing problems, the real challenge is making the communication attractive enough for employees to consume and remember. I used comedy as a strategy to make this campaign go viral within the company. Not only was this video viewed more than 750 times internally, it also completely solved the issue of communicating life change events to the benefits team.
60 Second Training Recap
In an effort to provide CareerBuilder employees with opportunities for continued growth through learning, my team produced training on soft-skills like time management and dealing with difficult people. While these videos were educational, without effortful recall, it is virtually impossible for our brains to retain new information we’ve learned. To solve this problem, I wrote, produced, filmed, designed, and edited more than thirty, 60-second videos that recapped the important concepts taught in instructor-led classes. My strategy was to reduce the recall content to only the most important concepts and deliver it to the learners days later because recall is much more effective if it’s spaced over time.
Appreciative Inquiry SlideMaster Training
I designed and edited this video to teach students the self-determined change model: Appreciative Inquiry (AI). The designs were hand drawn using a Wacom board and edited using Adobe After Effects. The video’s format was designed after the functionality of the classic toy SlideMaster. This AI model helped the sales force notice and observe client behavior better, listen deeply, and propose better solutions to their customers.
Intern Recruitment
With the increasing demands for technology and engineering talent, CareerBuilder needed a marketing video to help recruit interns in these fields. I produced, filmed, and edited this video to highlight the value of their experience and encourage college students to intern at CareerBuilder.
Virtual Party Invitation Service
In order to maintain Pampered Chef’s brand identity as well as capture valuable data, I produced, designed, and edited this marketing video to encourage consultants to use Pampered Chef’s new invitation service. The video highlights the main features and benefits of Pampered Chef’s party invitations and educates consultants on its competitive differentiators.
CareerBuilder’s Mission to Empower Employment
CareerBuilder wanted to build broad awareness of their mission of empowering employment to both job seekers and employers in order to increase site traffic and sales. I assisted an outside video production team and acted in this video that aired nationally on cable television.
Site Security
By law, CareerBuilder was required to have its employees take an annual site security training. Site security isn’t the most engaging topic, so completion levels were always low. In order to increase participation, I co-produced and acted in two comedic story-based videos that highlighted the main site security rules and regulations. The videos mimicked popular crime dramas like CSI and Grey’s Anatomy. The videos went viral within the organization, and completion time of these videos decreased by more than 40%.
Santorini & Maine Weddings
I filmed and edited two wedding videos for close friends. I used my own equipment which included a Canon 5D, multiple lenses, and a shoulder rig. Both weddings required travel and transportation of equipment. Both couples were extremely happy with the result, and said I was able to capture their days perfectly.
